The Oakland Greens

Our Mission

We are an all-volunteer group of registered Green Party members and independent radical thinkers. Our goal is to encourage you to stop choosing the lesser of two evils and instead support people-before-profit candidates.

We advocate for residents to become producers of social justice within their communities, not just consumers of it. We organize people-building events and believe that direct actions should function as teach-ins—to identify, support, and cultivate people-before-profit candidates and staff.

The Oakland Greens endorse:

• The California Green Party platform, with an emphasis on Eco-Socialism
• The Alameda County Green Party Charter
• Local policies that emphasize Self-Defense over Non-Violence

Under the Social Justice umbrella, we highlight our Whole Schools, Healthy Schools, and Neighborhood Schools policy. We affirm that Sex Worker Rights are Workers’ and Womxn’s Rights. We support Restorative Justice policing, and hold that it is the people who will create the solutions to heal the toxic, fascist, capitalist system we currently face.
